Mission Statement

Everybody’s Doggy is dedicated to providing accessible dog training and behavior education to people of all ages and abilities using positive, ethical training methods.

We believe that everybody whose life would benefit from a dog deserves to be given the opportunity and that every dog deserves to live healthy, happy, and fulfilling lives.

At the core of our mission is a commitment to the growth of emotional, social, physical, and academic skills and abilities while building trusting relationships between dogs and people.

By working together, we can create a more caring and connected community where both dogs and people can flourish.

Our Values

  • COMPASSION

We believe that all people and dogs deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. Our training is always based on positive reinforcement and humane methods. We prioritize empathy and understanding in all of our interactions with people and dogs.

  • INCLUSION

We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all people and dogs, regardless of their background or abilities. We believe that everybody should have access to effective and humane training methods, and we strive to make our services accessible to as many people as possible.

  • COLLABORATION

We recognize that effective dog training requires team support, and we work closely with dog guardians, trainers, veterinarians, and other experts to provide the best possible training plans and outcomes. We value collaboration and communication, and we believe that by working together, we can achieve the best outcomes for both people and dogs.

Our Training Philosophy

At Everybody's Doggy, our approach to dog training and humane education aligns with the recommendations of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB). AVSAB emphasizes the importance of reward-based methods supported by compassion, respect, and scientific evidence. We firmly believe that reward-based learning not only offers the most benefits but also ensures the well-being of the dogs and people involved. Extensive research confirms the effectiveness of positive reinforcement in dog training and behavior modification.

As a nonprofit organization dedicated to evidence-based dog training, we prioritize the use of reward-based methods. There is no evidence that aversive training is necessary for dog training or behavior modification. This means that we never utilize or endorse aversive collars such as shock or "e" collars, slip leads, choke chains, or prong collars. Additionally, we strictly refrain from any form of verbal or physical harm toward dogs, as their physical and emotional well-being is our utmost priority.

For further insights and detailed information on humane dog training, we invite you to access AVSAB's comprehensive position statement by clicking here.

At Everybody's Doggy, we are committed to providing a safe, effective, and ethical training environment for everybody and their doggy.

Meet The Team

Suzy, CCDT, ABCSDT, CFFP

Founder / Executive Director

Suzy is a dog training professional whose work is shaped by both formal education and lived experience. She has completed extensive study in animal behavior, canine communication, psychology, learning theory, and the human-animal bond. This built from a lifelong foundation that began in childhood alongside her mother, who bred and trained Labrador Retrievers for service work, therapy, and companionship.

Suzy is an adult-diagnosed autistic woman and a homeschooling mother of five children, several of whom are neurodivergent. Her personal experience navigating disability and neurodiversity inspires every aspect of her work, allowing her to approach dog training with a level of empathy, flexibility, and understanding that goes beyond traditional methods.

In addition to her work with dogs, Suzy has experience as a perinatal professional, where she developed skills in trauma-informed care, advocacy, inclusivity, and communication. These combined experiences allow her to support both people and their dogs in ways that are deeply individualized and respectful of each family’s needs.

Suzy is passionate about creating accessible, supportive training environments where neurodivergent individuals and families can thrive alongside their dogs. She prioritizes customized approaches that honor both human and canine needs, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all path to connection.

She continues to pursue ongoing education through workshops, courses, and conferences, with a focus on strengthening the relationship between people of diverse backgrounds and their dogs.
