Volunteering with Everybody's Companion Connections offers a unique opportunity for you and your pet to contribute to meaningful programs that benefit both people and animals. As an ECC Animal Ambassador, your pet will help bring joy, comfort, and therapeutic benefits to individuals in need. You’ll gain valuable experience, develop new skills, and be part of a compassionate and supportive community.
ECC Animal Ambassador Certification
Our ECC Animal Ambassador Certification program ensures that your pet is well-suited for animal-assisted therapy work. The certification process includes:

Human volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult ECC member.
The minimum age for pet volunteers is:
Dogs - 1 year
Cats - 1 year
Rabbits - 8 months
Others - ask us!
Regardless of pet age, you must have owned the pet for a minimum of 6 months before they are eligible to participate with ECC.

A thorough assessment of your pet’s temperament and behavior to ensure they are calm, friendly, and comfortable around people.

Specialized training sessions to prepare your pet for interactions in various therapeutic settings.

Verification of your pet’s health status, including up-to-date vaccinations and a clean bill of health from a veterinarian.

Once certified, you and your pet can begin participating in our therapy events and programs.
Our Approach
ECC’s Animal-Assisted Therapy program is tailored to meet the unique needs of each participant. We work closely with families, caregivers, facilitators, and providers to create personalized plans that incorporate animal interactions into the therapeutic process. Our sessions are designed to be engaging, enjoyable, and beneficial, ensuring a positive experience for both the participants and the animals.
